A Baltimore-area native, Anika Jensen began her yoga journey in 2015 as a part of her recovery from an eating disorder. Because of its immense healing benefits in both mind and body, yoga quickly became an essential part of her daily life, and she has since practiced in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and even Norway. Hoping to promote body acceptance, healing, and personal liberation through yoga, she began teaching in 2017, first to a small group of friends, then to her college classmates. After graduating from Gettysburg College in 2018 (go Bullets!), she joined the team at Down Dog Gettysburg, where she taught all levels classes with a focus on accessibility. Anika is now a graduate student at South, where she studies English with a focus on war literature and Tolkien studies. She is excited to instruct vinyasa at Above and Beyond and cannot wait to continue her own journey of life-long learning while guiding others toward self-acceptance.
