Teddy Ward

Yoga Instructor
Teddy Ward

Teddy Ward has been teaching yoga since 2010 and attended Bikram’s Yoga College of India in the fall of 2011. He has competed in USA Yoga Regional and National Asana Championships and has won the title of Alabama State Champion in the male division in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Originally a student of Nadia Jenkins, Teddy completed his first yoga teacher training with Melanie Buffett and has participated in master classes with renowned Vinyasa teachers Bryan Kest and Kathryn Budig. Since attending Bikram’s teacher training, Teddy has attended workshops and seminars with some of Bikram’s most senior teachers and National and International Asana Champions, including Jedi Fight Club, a 10-day back-bending clinic for yoga enthusiasts led by Esak Garcia, the 2005 International Yoga Asana Champion. Teddy first came to yoga to lose 40 pounds. He lost 50 pounds and got so much more in return. The hot room, for him, is something of a metaphor: “How you are during your yoga practice is a reflection of how you are in life,” he says. “Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay, and I will gladly pay mine in the hot room. Yoga is a magnificent obsession for me, giving strength, balance, flexibility and meditation. Yoga is life.”
