Alisha tried a yoga class for college credit on a whim and was ‘discovered’ by the instructor (John Harding) as someone with potential for teaching. With some coaxing from John, Alisha began teacher training under him and his wife Dominique as a directed study at the University of West Florida. Alisha has now been teaching as a University Group Fitness Instructor since the Fall of 2015, and up until recently taught a class at the historic Imogene Theatre in Milton, FL. Her dynamic style of Vinyasa flow is energizing and uplifting, laced with challenging bits derived from her background as a student of Exercise Science. She will complete her Bachelor’s Degree in the Spring of 2018. Alisha’s gentle demeanor and calming temperament has a way of convincing you to attempt and explore movements you might not have otherwise imagined you could do. Weaving playfulness into challenge is what she strives for in sequencing. She encourages her students to practice at their boundaries so that they may expand their limits and grow stronger. She loves assisting others in finding growth, and she’s always seeking new movements and techniques to bring to her classes. Besides her own yoga practice, Alisha enjoys being outdoors, Rock Climbing, hammocking, AcroYoga, Resistance Training, and just about any fun physical activity.
